# Vitale 0.1.1 — first meeting test

Private previews, September 15, 2026. Native microphone and system audio need a real test on your device before you rely on the app.

## Install and sign in

- Mac: macOS 15+, Apple Silicon or Intel. Unzip and open Vitale.app. This preview is ad-hoc signed, not Apple notarized. If macOS blocks it, obtain a Developer ID signed release. Keep system protections enabled.
- Windows: Windows 11 x64 (Intel/AMD). Extract the entire ZIP and open Vitale.exe. Keep the accompanying files together. The .NET runtime is included; Microsoft WebView2 Runtime is required: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/ . If your device blocks unsigned software, obtain a signed build.
- Choose Sign in through browser. Enter the six-digit code displayed by the app into the Vitale browser page, then return to the app. Only use a code from the sign-in you started.
- Choose a test client and open Meetings. Cloud operations require a network connection.

## Ten-minute acceptance test

Use invented details and a consenting tester. Connect headphones before you begin.

1. Start a call using your usual meeting platform. In Vitale, choose Record meeting and confirm the client. Grant recording permissions if you want to test capture.
2. Verify the recording indicator. Say: "Revenue was fifteen thousand, correction, fifty thousand dollars. Gross margin is 35.2%, not 32.5%."
3. Have the other participant say: "For this client only, send the board pack on the second Tuesday each month. Maya will reconcile account 4100 by September 18, 2026. Hiring is only an idea; it is not approved."
4. Stay silent for 15 seconds, then speak again. Record at least 70 seconds to cross a chunk boundary. Minimize and reopen Vitale; switch to another client and back.
5. End recording. Check both voices, late speech, corrected amounts, negation, owner and date in the transcript and summary. A mixed audio stream does not reliably identify speakers.
6. Read each supporting excerpt. Edit and approve one preference, dismiss an unwanted suggestion, and approve one task. Verify the memory and plan for the selected client. Approving a task must not start an agent or send a message.
7. Confirm a successful upload and summary remove local audio. Transcripts and summaries remain in Vitale.
8. Record another test, disconnect the network after starting, then end it. Verify the error and saved recording. Reconnect, choose Recover a saved recording and retry. Check for missing parts and duplicate items.
9. Before relying on it, repeat with your normal mic/headset, a full-length call and laptop sleep/device-disconnection cases. Record any failures. Seamless device switching, echo cancellation, speaker mapping, live transcripts and automatic updates are not part of this preview.

## Evidence already collected

- Mac: universal arm64/x86_64 build, strict signature integrity, 25 synthetic audio/recovery assertions, native window launch and real browser-to-app sign-in.
- Windows: native x64 build, 33 audio/security assertions, executable startup, per-user storage ACL, WebView2 initialization and JavaScript on a Windows runner. No hardware capture in that runner.
- Web: 3,726 tests in 379 files; TypeScript and targeted lint. UI checks for client isolation, native-start busy state, and failed refresh messages.
- Models: 14 live provider requests on a 64.7-second authored two-voice fixture, including clean and seeded noisy audio. Mini transcription retained all ten checked facts in both variants. Gemini 3.8 Flash preserved uncertainty and produced valid evidence. This is not a real-meeting accuracy guarantee.

## Current model and cost

OpenAI mini transcription + Gemini 3.8 Flash. A one-hour meeting with 12,000 input and 2,000 billed output tokens is about $0.213 before eligible Google credits, or $0.1965 after promotional credits through December 2026. Redaction, retries, infrastructure, taxes and later agent work are additional. Server spend guards use gross rates; provider invoices control actual charges.

## Local audio and production release

Mac audio: ~/Library/Application Support/Vitale/Recordings/
Windows audio and profile: %LOCALAPPDATA%/CompanyVitals/Vitale
Audio is retained when upload/summary fails. The server verifies chunk identity and explicit success before local deletion. Do not edit saved chunks during recovery.

Broad distribution still needs Apple Developer ID signing/notarization, Windows code signing, supported-device real-call/long-call acceptance, and an update/rollback process. No certificate or security exception was created by this release.
